One held with arms in Tuensang

A joint team of Tuensang police and IRB personnel along with the district administration conducted search in various colonies in Tuensang town and seized one .22 pistol and three rounds from the possession of one Yanzang Chang (25), son of late Kechingkhum of Sipongsang village and a resident of Old Medical Colony, Tuensang, on February 18.

Besides, the joint team sizeable quantity of IMFL and local brew which were destroyed in the presence of the magistrate. The arrested person has been booked under Arms Act in PS Tuensang and necessary investigation has been taken up.

Meanwhile, IGP(R) Nagaland and DIG (R), Dimapur, have reached Tuensang and held security co-ordination meeting with the district administration, paramilitary forces and the police.  The police and the district administration are strictly monitoring the situation and it was brought to the notice of concerned citizens that the police be informed of any movement of armed miscreants and suspected person/vehicles in and around the town. Such activities and act of violence would not be tolerated and strict action would be taken against such persons.
