Ao Senden appeals Changs, Yimchungrus in Mokokchung

On February 21,2015 the Ao Senden had convened a joint meeting with Chang and Yimchunger communities in Mokokchung where the prevailing situation arising at Tuensang was deliberated upon.

According to Ao Senden president Prof.Sangyu Yaden and general secretary Tsupong Longchar, the Senden expressed deep anguish over the incidents and indicated its readiness to facilitate a peace process.

The joint meeting also shared the need for a concerted effort to find a peaceful settlement between the two tribes. Senden said though the situation had escalated in Tuensang due to dispute between the two tribes,it cautioned the two tribes from creating any situation in Mokokchung. The Senden also informed both communities that failure to comply with the directive, would compel it to take its own course of action where befitting punishment would be awarded to those who violate its directive.
